Tour and Perform in France with the Maritime Community Ensemble!
Schools Out Tours presents a dream music tour to France in 2025. As a member of the Maritime Community Ensemble, you’ll experience the beautiful Alsace region, followed by two exciting days in Paris, the ‘City of Lights’.
Visit cathedrals, castles and unique ‘fairy-tale’ villages combined with world famous Alsatian wines, artisanal cheeses and local foods. Then, add all the sights of Paris including an evening cruise on the River Seine.
And one more thing: Did we mention you’ll perform in Strasbourg, Heidelberg, Riquewihr and Paris?!
What Is the Maritime Community Ensemble?
The Maritime Community Ensemble (MCE) is a concert band assembled especially for this tour. We will travel as a performing group, playing repertoire at the level to which you are accustomed in your own community band. The MCE was previously assembled for a successful tour of Spain in 2019. The 2025 edition will be conducted by experienced music educator Brent Bannerman.
More about Brent
Brent Bannerman is a retired instrumental music educator, collaborative pianist, director of music theatre, and currently, an adjunct professor of music in the music department of St. Francis Xavier University.
During his 36 years as director of bands at Dr.J.H. Gillis Regional High, Brent has led his students in festivals, competitions, and tours throughout Canada, the U.S and Cuba,
The high school band program offered his students the opportunity to perform in many various genres, including ceremonial music, jazz gigs, big band dances, pep bands for major sporting events, street parades, pit bands for music theatre productions, as well as regular concert programs.
Many of his students have pursued careers in music and related fine arts careers.
